Teams played five games in the scorching heat on Saturday to determine the playoff rankings for Sunday's competition. Dave Byrnes, Christopher Mavin, and Ericka Esplin from Rotary Park Lawn Bowling Club in Calgary finished the first five games with a 4–1 record, tied with Curt Moll, Braydon Gordon, and Barb Moll of Medicine Hat. However, the Rotary Park team won the tiebreaker by virtue of having a better points-for record.
On Sunday, teams were divided into three pools based on their records from Saturday.
On the A side, Byrnes, Mavin, and Esplin won their semifinal game against David Robertson, Ann Robertson, and Jane Bowyer from Calgary, 7–3. Moll, Gordon, and Moll took on the Medicine Hat team of Doug Sanregret, Sam Ferrier, and Wes Bresee, winning 7–4 to set up a final between the tournament's top two seeds. However, it was the Rotary Park team that dominated the final, defeating the Medicine Hat team 15–0 to capture the pennant.
On the B side, Keith Bacon, Mike Belliveau, and Kathryn MacGregor from Calgary LBC defeated the Medicine Hat team of Mike Gilchrist, Shirley Richards, and Paula Bolster, 11–2.
The C side featured two Edmonton teams, with Francis Jo (Royal LBC), Susan Kitzan, and Mike Evans (both from Highlands LBC) edging Highlands LBC's Richard Turner, Kathy Kerr, and Thelma Melnichuk, 7–6.
The tournament's top skip, as voted by the participants, was Cave Starling of Medicine Hat LBC. Starling received the Ben Osterman Award.
The Howard Davison Award, as voted by the participants and presented to the team they felt the late, great Howard Davison would most have enjoyed playing with, was awarded to Byrnes, Mavin, and Esplin of Rotary Park LBC.
