Aussie Pairs Tournament

 The club held its annual Aussie Pairs Tournament - the last tournament of the year. All the entry money is given out as prize money. We run it like a jitney so everyone got to play with someone different each time. 

Linda was the high lady, and Denis was the high man - each winning $35. Curt was second for the men, and Janette and Barb tied for second in the ladies. Frank and Cave tied for third for the men, and Shirley took third for the ladies. 

Frederick and Patrick

During the pairs leagues finals, Frederick and Patrick dropped in with ice cream from Swirls. They watched our games for a bit and then we talked to them after the games were over. They are from Lyon, France, and flew to Vancouver in order to cycle their way to Montreal. They decided to stay at an Air B & B for a couple of nights to rest their bodies. They were interested in the game, so one of out members pulled out some bowls and gave them a quick lesson. 

We wish them a safe trip to Montreal!

Pairs League A and B Champs

Mike Gilchrist and Shirley Richards took the pairs championship with a win over Sam and Pat Ferrier. Curt and Barb Moll took the Red Amos Trophy for the third time with a win over Doug and Yvonne Sanregret.

New Men's Champion Crowned

Three time runner up, Mike Gilchrist, finally got a taste of victory in men's singles with a 9-8 win over Denis Ethier. It was a close match and tied in the last end. Doug Sanregret took the bronze medal.

On the B side, Braydon Gordon took the men's B championship with a 9-7 win over Curt Moll. 

Ladies Singles League Champion Crowned

Barb Moll defeated Yvonne Sanregret 9-7 in the ladies singles league final. It was Barb's third championship, but first one since 2021. Shirley Richards took the bronze medal.
