Yardstick 2019

The second annual Yardstick Tournament took place with 8 Medicine Hat teams and 2 Lethbridge teams. The format of the tournament was changed this year as a pairs tournament, instead of the jitney-like format of last year.  Teams had to play 3 randomly selected games. A yardstick tournament is different in that all the bowls within a yard of the jack are counted towards the score, which means both teams can score points in each end, not just one, as in traditionally bowls.

Ina and Lori Lutz went a perfect 3-0 in the tournament and racked up 84 points to win the tournament. Wes and Jean Bresee also went 3-0, but had 5 fewer points that the Lutz' to finish in second place. Lethbridge's Robert and Neal took the third place title with a 2-1 record. The top three placers took home yard sticks with everyone's signature on them.
