Lawn Bowls Alberta president, Tony Spencer, attended an executive meeting on Saturday, April 6 to discuss several things. The provincial association is trying to develop a strategic plan. In order to do so, Tony felt it necessary to visit all the clubs in the province and get their input. One of the areas he felt was lacking was input and communication between the provincial body and the clubs. We shared some ideas with him and also made sure he knew how mistreated we felt from LBAA. Tony shared a lot of interested things about the provincial body when he took over and hopes to improve the provincial body as a whole, started with communication. We also felt that the provincial association should be acting as a clearinghouse of knowledge about what it working for other clubs. In other words, if something worked to garner new members at a club in Edmonton, that club should be sending in their success story so the LBAA can share it with member clubs.
