Medicine Hat Memorial Triples Tournament

posted 16 Jul 2015, 09:51 by Website Editor
Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling Club is very pleased to be hosting its first Lawn Bowls Association of Alberta tournament in about 15 years! Our new green, although not 100% yet, is in the best shape its been since it was installed. The Royal Edmonton LBC and Lethbridge LBC, along with four teams from Medicine Hat LBC, make up the 16 team tournament.

This tournament is unique in the province as it is trying to focus more on getting both competitive and social bowlers involved. The tournament criteria has the skip being an experience bowler, the vice is a novice bowler, while the lead is a new bowler (less than two seasons experience).

Games start on Saturday at 10:00 (registration begins at 9:00), 1:00, and 2:30. On Sunday we have games at 10:00 and 11:00. Spectators are not only welcome but encouraged!

Thank you to vice-president Gerry Aitken for taking the lead on this. Having not hosted a tournament in a long time, Gerry has had to learn a lot on the go. He is lucky to have Pat Gebhardt and Carol Paddock taking lead roles in the kitchen so we can host a barbeque Saturday evening and supply water and snacks to competitors. We are also grateful to Lawn Bowls Association of Alberta (LBAA) for their assistance and support for this event.
